Activity 3.3.3.1 Current Events in Plastic Pollution
PLASTIC POLLUTION
Introduction
I've recently read article on how one of the biggest pollutions is plastic, which was not a shock I was aware of it being a problem. However, while taking this class, I know how a realization on how much of an issue this is on our community and around the world, from my article that I've read it discusses on how health and the environment is at risk from all of the plastic waste and how if we continue It'll be a greater effect on us
Information
Microplastic is a major issue for a pollution, it part of the plastic waste that we don't throw away properly. Microplastics are the size of rice that has 2 main sources the primary and secondary Microplastic. Primary is used to produce in the materials we use for an example cosmetic, as Secondary is when it breaks down from the large plastic waste which things like fabric gets put in the environment causing the water source to be contaminated. An exposure would be issues for the respiratory, Immune, and also chemical exposure.
Data
The data shows that as of 2019 over 300 million plastic products and it will continue to increase a alarming rate, researchers believe that as of 2060 there will be one billion plastic water that wasn't dispose of properly and that less then 7% would actually be recycled.
Is the info reliable
the article was resourceful and able to get to the main points on what is micro plastic and how it came to be, but it doesn't catch the audience attention. The article is meant for everyone of different groups to read to be resourceful but how it organizes it was kind of ranting in my opinion.
